Hey guys my rear axle seal is leaking and when i change the seal i'm going to go ahead and change the rear fluid while i'm at it. I know i need to use a synthetic fluid but my buddy told me there an additive that you are suppose to put in with it for the limited slip. I have searched but haven't really found anything. So can i just run the mobile 1 synthetic fluid or do i need to have this additive also? if i do need the additive do i have to get it from a dealer?

I just bought full synthetic. Actually read the bottle it says its for Limited Slip Differentials. Havent had any problems with mine.

Is it a locker or a limited slip? The locker should only need the recommended fluid (whatever that may be, no additive). A rearend with a limited slip (usually has clutch plates in it) is what would need something like an additive so the plates dont chatter..
