The track or tire to tire width of the 4x4 2500 series is 2&1/2 " wider in front than in the rear. GM's older trucks were 4" wider track in front than in the rear. A set of spacers was sold to build out the rear wheels 2" each on the older models. Just curious as to why GM builds this way.

Something about better cornering and stability I have heard. Then again some guys with spacers said it was just as good that way, so I don't know for sure.
