Engine has 141k. 3 of the second set of injectors bad (8 replaced at 63k), has blown head gasket, cracked head. Getting reman engine from GM. Doesn't include injector pump though (or turbo). Dealer says should replace with new pump at $2800 while we're in there. I'd appreciate opinions. When have you replaced your pump, if ever. Thanks to all.

they want an additional $2800 for just the pump? if so go get your truck because they are screwing you, the pump should be around a grand give or take a few hundred. if that price is turbo and pump it's pretty decent.

If your putting a reman engine in it then most likely the two front side accessory covers are off and you're about 30min from the pump at most. The pump should be a grand at most.

i think list is 1050 on the pump...get out of there if they want a grand to put it on

thanks for the advice. GM dealer low balled on the reman and comes back with a high price on accessories. hasn't told me they are needed, just that at 141k they should be replaced.

how are the injectors? if the injectors are New...well reman'ed to be "new", then I'd put a new pump in just for the safe of mind, I do not know the life on injection pumps but for some reason my pump was replaced at 23k(weird i know) then I personally did it around 147k(cause of a p0093 that NEVER ended)

What is included in this "reman engine" does it come with injectors? If you are swapping injectors I would leave the pump, if you doing new/reman injectors do the pump. It is YOUR decision, just my opinion.
