Does anyone know if there is a vacuum pump available for the 05 LLY duramax?

A customer of mine has 6 trailers that he uses vacuum over hydraulic brakes. He had an 01 Dodge that he now traded off on a 05 LLY. He also has a 03 Duramax that already has a vacuum pump on it. After he bought the truck the GM dealership told him that the vacuum pump that is currently used on the LB7 will not work on the LLY because the holes are no longer there to mount it (Bottom passanger side on drive belt)

He will be forced to change all of his trailers over to electric over hydraulic if he can't find a vacuum pump to work.

I wonder if this is what the holes on the top driver side might be for? It looks like a braket for something could be bolted up in the front top driver side of the motor on my 2005 HD.

The holes on the top drivers side are for the second alternator.

Yes the holes are for a second alternator. I am sure you could fab something to work there but I was hoping to find a manufactured unit that would just drop in.

What about an electric one?? I amn sure someone out there makes one............

Apparantly they don't last long and they are expensive. $1000 or so. It is an option I guess.

i'll check the parts catalog when I get back to work on Tuesday. I had put one on an LB7 for a buddy last year... Kind of sucks they say that there is none for the LLY.

Custom fab may be your only option...
