: Let's see your aux switch mounting!
Max Power 05-25-2005, 12:09 PM Please post pictures of your auxillary switch mounting. I am adding some accessories and my 2 switches in the trippin overhead mount will not be enough. I thought it would be cool to see what other people have done since I can't come up with anything that I like.
DuckhunterInTN 05-25-2005, 12:35 PM Sorry, don't have any pics b/c I haven't done it yet, but I plan on getting some of those nice looking black switches (they have them at most parts stores) with the led indicator light built into them and am going to install them into a blank I put in place of the cubby hole on the CC dash.
Currently I only have one switch (for my reverse lights) and it is mounted under the dash on a metal plate I fabbed up for temporary use.
CottonWoodBlues 05-25-2005, 12:47 PM Max Power, can you be more specific about the Trippin O/H mount? Where is it from. I scanned through the vender section and found no 'Trippin' listed. I'm looking for an o/h panel mount that will hold two guages and has the two swithches, or has a spot I can add the two switches. Thanks, bud.

CottonWoodBlues 05-25-2005, 07:19 PM Thanks a bunch. I thought I'd seen that one somewhere. Now, who has the best deal on Guages? It's back to cruzin' the vender's section...

Diesel Dragon 05-25-2005, 08:06 PM Max check the pics in my sig. Look under the Big Dually set of pictures there should be one of the 3 rocker switch's with indicator lights that I installed and the PTO switch
DD
Max Power 05-25-2005, 08:31 PM Thansk DD, I have a cubby hole there so I would have to buy the panels. It is an option, but it is probably a last resort. Very nice BTW.
Los Lobos 05-25-2005, 08:32 PM I am at work today and don't have a way to download pics, but I do have my camera. Soooo, tomorrow I will post pics of the super trick new switch panel brought to you by Super Diesel. It holds six lighted rocker switches and comes prewired. It mounts inside the older style jockey box, so I am not sure of the fit for newer trucks. I am sure with a little persuasion SD can modify a run for newer style boxes. I like it because you can close/lock the box to keep those prying eyes from seeing all your secrets not to mention it looks bad a$$.

Max Power 05-25-2005, 08:55 PM I look forward to seeing it.
bigblackdmax 05-25-2005, 09:03 PM heres mine its really not as scratched as the picture makes it look
Max Power 05-25-2005, 09:35 PM That looks good bigblackmax, I'm looking for something a little bit more discrete however.
bigblackdmax 05-26-2005, 01:25 AM That looks good bigblackmax, I'm looking for something a little bit more discrete however. Yeah, thats not what you want then cause its always, "what does that switch do"?
Max Power 05-26-2005, 02:32 PM Los Lobos emailed me these pictures so I thought I would post them for him.
SethMcKinney 05-26-2005, 03:04 PM Sweet!!!
Los Lobos 05-26-2005, 06:42 PM If you like this switch panel please contact Super Diesel for more info.
Los Lobos emailed me these pictures so I thought I would post them for him.
mwgasman 05-26-2005, 07:48 PM SD is the king. You guys need to stop showing me his stuff. This is starting to get out of hand $$$.

RedRiceEater 08-23-2005, 01:28 PM My setup won't help you any since you have the trippin overhead mount. Maybe it will give someone else an idea.
RedRiceEater 08-23-2005, 01:30 PM I don't know how your center console is but if you have the near useless cd holder under the cassette like I do you can put stuff in there. ;)
I don't have switches in there but it would be very easy to do.
DINO ONE 08-23-2005, 02:22 PM I want that console soooo Bad! I love the old style I just don't want a frigging tape deck? WTF? I like SD mount that thing is sick I'm gonna have to get me one of those!

RedRiceEater 08-23-2005, 02:39 PM I am trying to figure out something to put in that tape deck. I hate it. But right now all I've made is a plate to cover it. Which looks about as gay as the tape deck.
I wanted to put the brake box in there but the top of the cd shelf was too high to let it tilt back the way I wanted.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I can put in there besides sirrius or xm please let me know.
tcuphi 08-23-2005, 03:19 PM There is a replacement part from GM that will fit in place of the tape deck. I replaced it on my '00 Z-71 but can't remember the part number. It clipped right in to the mounts from the tape deck.
DINO ONE 08-23-2005, 03:36 PM This is the cubby hole used to replace the tape deck (P/N: 15958735)

RedRiceEater 08-23-2005, 04:21 PM that looks much better than the tape deck
sorry for hijacking your thread max
BlueOx03 08-23-2005, 05:40 PM Why not replace the tape deck with a switch panel?
RedRiceEater 08-23-2005, 09:40 PM I would but I've already started putting them on the overhead console.
Diesel Power 08-24-2005, 02:54 AM ok here goes.. don't laugh.. lots of switches
its funny to see someone try and figure out what they all do.. :)

Lets see...ya got:
Oil Slick/Smoke Screen nozzles
Tire puncture darts
Machine Guns
Guided Missle/Rocket Launcher
Ejector Seat
That one under the dash must be the alarm...
RedRiceEater 08-24-2005, 12:02 PM I will guess its a combination lock to turn on "kit".
Since you have a dream of some day becoming David Hasselhoff. :p:
Diesel Power 08-24-2005, 12:17 PM Hey i liked Night Rider as i kid! it even debued on my birthday..
RedRiceEater 08-24-2005, 10:31 PM I loved it as a kid too. It kind of displays Hasselhoff's uhm... non-straightness if you watch it now.
benz_020 08-25-2005, 11:10 AM mine are all toggle's
onder the dash
far enough down so i can operate them all with my feet.
...HANDS FREE...
gittyup 09-08-2005, 04:02 PM I put my cb in the tape decks place & switches in the cd pocket.
I'll try to post some pictures asap.
number9 09-12-2005, 10:54 PM Here's my Aux Lamps switch I used to run my backup lights. It was a pain to find out how to wire it up so it behaves as factory, but the guys over on avalanche forums were able to show me the way.

Also have some pics of the backup lights. They are 3x5 Utility/Tractor FLOOD lights from Wal-Mart and do a great job of lighting up behind the truck.

The switches drive a bank of relays mounted to the driver's fender to firewall brace. The additional leds below the switches are for us folks that get in too big of a hurry and forget to put their tailgate up and since the tonneau hides that fact, we don't notice until we get where were going. D'oh! ;)
