I have 13,500 miles on my truck. Last oil change was at 9,700 using mobil delvac 1300. I change the oil at 1,000 miles, 5,000 miles and at 9,700 miles. The truck towed heavy at the beginning of the last oil change (12,000 lbs 5th wheel and Jeep toad). Currently the dipstick shows halfway between add and full (1/2 quart low?). Is this normal or should I look closer at the engine?

I would say it wouldn't be unusual for a motor while still breaking in towing 12,000 lbs to push a quart out ....

Every year at work as a senior driver, I got a new Mack Concrete truck. (You could keep the one you had if you wanted.) Anyway, the first month or two the engine would use a gallon per day until broken in.
