: What should stock LB7 Boost be?

My truck has the Banks 6 gun w/ speed loader chip, Banks pillar gauges, also a Hypertech powertuner installed also. Has Cool duals 4" dual exhaust, K&K panel air filter and gutted air box. It also has the ppe boost increase valve.

Under acceleration, I can only achieve about 20psi max boost on my Banks Gauges. Is that normal? And under normal half throttle or so acceleration its only like 10psi, I have to be into the gas fairly hard to achieve the 20psi.

I just picked up a used Big Head off Ebay, maybe this will help my problem?

I gotta check out my intercooler pipe again. It looked ok a couple monts ago, but can a pinhole leak affect boost?

Need opinions and answers please. What is stock LB7 Boost psi??

Thanks again.

mine with a banks 6 gun and ppe boost valve hit 28-32 depending on how hard I am on it and what level it is on.

BTW, I also lifted a head and had to get studs... our engines are known for headgasket issues, so be careful until studded. I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that the stock turbo can self destruct after 32 or 34 psi.. someone more knowlegable can feel free to correct me though..

No the stock turbos dont explode til 42-45lbs of boost. To many people have found that limit out there but will not reply because people will not believe them.

And stock boost pressure with nothing done to the truck should be somewhere around 20-22lbs of boost

Thanks again.Pinhole will affect boost, yes. Check intercooler pipes and hoses. I would think with a programer on your truck you should be at least 26 psi?
