First of all, I only got two hours of sleep this morning. I put my truck in 4hi to back up to my 5er, (real easy to get stuck there). Hooked up pulled out and drove 350 miles before I realized I was in 4hi.Censored  . I was so tired I just thought the tightness in steering was my trailer brakes. I never got over 70mph, mostly 65. You guys think I really f**** it up?:help2:

It's not a good idea to do it but you most likely didn't hurt anything. Almost anyone with a 4x4 has done it before so don't feel bad.

I think we have all done something similar. I know that I drove about 200 miles on time with another vehicle I had in 4HI.. I took it in to have it checked afterwards and they told me that it did not do any damage and that I should not do that but it was ok.. So I think you will be fine. Good luck

We run in 4x4 most of the winter in the oil fields here in northern alberta, i mean 10000 to 20000 km never taking it out so i dont think you would hurt anything.
But those are rentals and nobody cares.

Hope it helps

Did it once while pulling a 15000# trailer. Ruined my front u-joints. I now have an extra indicator light on my dash that tells me "hey idiot, it's still in 4HI." Works very well.

If you Don't run it in 4HI you will never have a Balance in the driveline ware.

The "Book" says to be eazy on the rear diff for 500 miles while it Wears In, are the Other gear sets, diff, front axle, transfer case different?

This equipment is designed to run Highway speeds in All HI Modes after being Broke In. If you don't drive it There, it wont be broke in There. (Rocket Science).

"Ol' rule" (balance the ware) 10%, or more, of total milage should be in 4WD. (More is not less).

For what it is worth.
