My front axle got stuck in 4 low the other day. It took 20 minutes of anything I could think of and the manual, then the 2 high light quit blinking and I was able to drive the truck. Since then the front axle won't engage. I push the button I hear a slight noise (in the trasfer case /front end area) but no front drive. I took it to the dealer they said the computer that controlls it " went to sleep" they re booted it and said it should be fixed. I got home and tried out the 4 wd system on my gravel driveway still did not work. I hate to go to have work done and not really understand what needs fixing and why. Can anyone help me on this.

Not sure on that new of a truck, but should be similar. The Independant front suspensions are plagued with this. Most likely, it is your linear actuator in the front differential. Part should be about $100, and take a few minutes to change out once you figure out what it is. If a shop does it, they will charge you usually $150 in labor for whatever reason. So do some research on your own and save a few bucks. Hope this helps. Let us know.

If you have the push button 4x4 sometimes the switch goes bad, and sometimes the encoder motor that actually puts the trasfer case in goes bad. Since you said stuck in 4 low I would think one of those is the problem. If you can't get any front end engagement at all it could also be the actuator in the front axle.

I took it in and they replaced the actuator, it works fine now. Since I bought the truck less than a month ago they fixed it at no charge, thats right free!!!! And in just 3 hours. Sundance Chevy on the west side of Lansing Mi. I guess I can confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a truck. They did have several to choose from and the prices seemed to be good, I looked for over 3 months before buying. Thanks for the help.

Mine got stuck in 4 lo back in the winter and it took jockeying back and forth, backing and pulling forward for 5 min utes to get it out of 4 lo. Noticed recently it would not shift into 4 lo (sounded like it did, but did not), only 4 hi and 2 wd. Haven't had a chance to take it in yet. I do have an extended warranty on it though.
