Some newbie questions. I have a 06 3500 Express Van with the Duramax. Step one is to add some gauges. Has anybody tried the Sunpro diesel gauge kit? I would like to add a tachometer, where do I pickup a signal? More queations to follow.

edge insight would be an easy option. i wish they had a tach stock.

No idea if alternator differs but Duramax truck gets signal #2 pin off the Altenator. Then signal goes to the ECM. Then on GMT-900 platform newer body style the cluster signal for the tach comes off the High speed serial data bus. I assume the same for GMT-800 but it be a low speed serial data bus.

The insight and a couple others look interesting but I favor analog gauges. Thanks for the tip on the alternator, I have a 3 to 1 Datcon tach in my old truck, I think I will borrow it and see if it works.

I talked to Banks Power last week, they said the pin out was different and the Banks IQ would not fit my 06 Express 3500 Duramax. Bummer.
