: Question on GMC over chevy dually
Oregonfireman 10-08-2009, 02:50 AM My last two trucks have been chevy, haven't really looked at the difference with the GMC, now its time for a new truck. Dually 4x4 loaded, saw a buddy's GMC today and he has three seats with leather up front? the middle seat folds down and makes a arm rest/cupholder, and can fold up to leave the middle seat open. His is an 08'. I could never find this option with the Chevy, and was told it wasn't made? Only the buckets with the center console. So is this a GMC only option? Anyone have one?
Thanks,
RJ
69project 10-08-2009, 10:48 PM I doubt its a GMC only option. The problem is most dealers do not order them like that. Go to the Chevy web site and build your own options and then see if you find one on a lot near you.
michael nelson 10-08-2009, 10:51 PM if it is an LTZ,it should have two captian seats(leather)in the front..
transferred 10-08-2009, 11:07 PM Chevy offer this as well. The GMC he has must be the mid trim SLE with optional leather as the SLTs have the captains chairs. I have captains but wish I had a bench like on my prev trucks...
Buckmaster1967 10-08-2009, 11:23 PM Yes Chevy offers this option, looked at one when I bought my 09 LTZ
Oregonfireman 10-09-2009, 12:59 AM oh, so you have to go with the lower trim option to get this seat choice. I usually get my trucks loaded, like the heated seats and stuff. I'm kinda thinking I want a DVD this time for the kids.

Yes, transferred is right on the trim deal and if you get rear dvd your kids will love you for it, mine do.
Hooker05 10-09-2009, 12:09 PM The only difference beween GMC and Chevy is the logo and a slightly higher MSRP for the GMC.
69project 10-10-2009, 12:16 AM I would not get a factory DVD. I have one, and it is good but the thing is you can save a couple of hundred by having a dealer installed one versus the factory one. I did that with my Enclave and saved something like $500 compared to the factory one. It's still covered by the factory warranty since it was installed by the dealer. Something to think about.
Brad92 10-10-2009, 01:41 PM Transferred is right. Although they are alot harder to find with leather front bench. Trust me, I looked, but that was back in 08.
Accord_boy619 10-10-2009, 09:43 PM Mines an 06 but I had the leather bench seats. ie the center seat and a center console.
kilo6490 10-13-2009, 06:06 AM just go to the dealer and order the truck from them. You can tell what you want, and pretty much get any option you want. It will take longer for you to get the truck vs just ordering one with "their options" but it is possible. At least this is how my dealer is, and this was a few years back, but I have also come to learn from fellow DP members' experience that my dealer is very different.
ka0ies 10-14-2009, 11:13 PM I was talking to the service manager at the dealership where I ordered my little truck. He says it is not too unusual for them to get a Chevrolet/GMC off of the auto transport. Or a GMC/Chevrolet, or a Chevy with GMC badges inside or on the side. It turns out that at least some of the GMC vehicles are built on the same assembly line as the Chevy vehicles and if the parts delivery for each vehicle gets a little bit wacky, then you get a Chevrolet/GMC.
