You will love it! I have had no problems with mine, been on since mid July. Still trying to find a way to rob a bank or beer drive-thru to get the money for the wheels and tires!:smoke2:
When you are use to old style wheels and tires in 16", moving up to 18" and higher quality is a sticker shock! I got'em picked out, just waiting to get them...
Can't wait for pics!

The new style they just came out with. They did away with the linkage that went in the lower shock mount and made a new solid piece in it's place. There was a post about it. Don't know if they have it on their site yet or not....

Yeap...you are installing the NEW NTBD 4" kit :thumb:.

Also a heads up...on your carrier bearing shim kit I had another customer that had a 2wd say that the bolts in the kit did not work with the OE cage nut. I haven't ran into this here in house but all the shim kits we have done on CC LB trucks so I am not sure if they have a different mount on the 2wd's.

Let me know if anything pops up, I will be here till 5pm thur, Fri. 10-9-09 we will be closed. We are heading to a off road show.

I left you a message last week, give me a call when you can. I have a couple questions. I gave the truck to All Out OffRoad. I trust they will figure out the carrier shims, but I will give them a call to give a heads up tomorrow.

I have not purchased a C/B for a Chevy so I am not sure if might be a Spicer, might want to check that?

Congrats!

I am going on 3 weeks with mine and I love it. I have a 2wd crew cab and had to add the carrier bearing spacers that Nick sent. I had to take the metal "U" clamp that goes around the carrier bearing off and beat the factory bolts out. Then I had to drill the factory holes bigger for the bolts and nuts I bought. The factory bolts in the carrier bearing where not long enough and the bolts in the ProComp kit I got from Nick didn't have nuts. I had to use the 2 large spacers and 1 medium spacer.

I will try to post pics of this tonight.

wreedLBZ, I just replaced my carrier bearing on my 06 CCLB LBZ. Here's the GM p/n from the dealership: 88934865

I can confirm the c/b is a Spicer unit and there was a number stamped on it but I didn't write it down. Be careful using the above part number as they need your VIN to get the right c/b. Unknown if all 06's used the same c/b. Mine's a 4x4 and yours looks like 2wd???

Also, I measured the ID of the bearing and it was just over 1.5 in.

How much was the piece? Was it hard to change?

I bought it from my local dealer for $170 but if I were smarter I would have gotten the p/n from them and then ordered it from GM parts direct for $93 :duh:.

It was really easy to change because I just took my driveline to someone and had the ujoints replaced, shaft balanced, and carrier replaced (took the GM part to him to avoid delays with him getting the part). Yes, it was pricey (170 gm part and 211 for shaft work) but now my d/s is balanced, new joints and new carrier. Knowing it's done right and being able to track when parts are replaced is worth the extra I may have spent in replacing something that may not have needed it (ujoints). Much smoother driving now, although I still have a slight vibration at 1900rpm/20mph.

I am gonna give each zerk a shot of Amsoil grease tomorrow. I think that boot is squeezed like that because the wheels were really turned. That boot looks like it can hold ALOT of grease! Does it need more than one pump?

ya, Definitley. Its not just cause it's turned, just fill it and you will see the boot get bigger, feel it as you fill it, you want the boot full, but not to much.

Its just a spacer to move the bumpstop down closer to the leaf springs like it would be on a stock truck. I didn't bother putting mine on.

Here are a couple things others have said already but i will also comment...

http://rtwww.reedtech.net/images/2500lift/img_0205.jpg

The rear bump stops drop brackets where not installed but like said not life or death.

http://rtwww.reedtech.net/images/2500lift/img_0206.jpg

Not sure what UCA bump rubber stop they used but that is not the one's that come in the kit. That is a taller style and the Cognito bu,p stop is a thinner pancake looking rubber. The ride would be better with the right drop rubber stop because this is limiting the down travel. I can send you the right ones if they mis-placed them.

http://rtwww.reedtech.net/images/2500lift/img_0210.jpg

I would also say to check how full of grease the tie rods are because they take alot. Looks alittle low and should be nice and ballooned on the boot to show it's full.

http://rtwww.reedtech.net/images/2500lift/img_0211.jpg

I would take it right back....they forgot to install the front diff .

I know....it's 2wd and it doesn't have a diff......

Dual shocks are next couple paychecks MUAHAHAH!!! Love this thing already!!

Did my alignment specs looks OK? The steering wheel is a little crooked to the left but its drives straight as a arrow when you let off so Im not complaining.

This truck doesn't pull? It says it has no cross caster, I am not 100% on top of my alignment as of whet your numbers would do but I have always found that it needs to have about .8 lower on the driver side caster split. If it feel good to you then I would run it and just watch the tires. About the steering wheel being off I would have them make it straight. Did they or do they do a 10-day re-torq or check up? Most of the time shops do this to keep warr. with there work. If you don't come back for it then they can say they will not cover the issue's because you never gave them the chance. This would be something you would want to bring up if they have a re-torq plan or call them.

Yes I noticed today the truck pulls to the right when the steering wheel straightens out after you let off wheel. What number EXACTLY are you talking about so I can point it out. Caster on left wheel, correct?

They do have 10 day retorque, I will tell them about this and they are going to shim the carrier as it growls at highway speeds!

What is involved in making the steering wheel straight? Another alignment?

Nor-Cal Nick
10-15-2009, 10:18 PM
Left and right it says "Castor" and the middle section that says "Cross Caster" this tells you the difference between left and right. Should be lower on the drivers side. They will have to put it bake on the mach. to do this.
