jmoodsII 10-07-2009, 11:49 AM I bought this part number from GM parts direct- 19202235 and they worked great. I did'nt see a part number in the ebay listing so I am not sure they are the same. Look the same. I paid about $2 more.

ahh ok, sweet looking truck you got there
here you go, these will save you a $100. these are suppossed to be almost exactly the same as OEM if not the same. you obviously need a right and a left.

theunderlord 10-07-2009, 05:01 PM if you can afford the OEM ones, do that.
the kool vue ones vibrate at freeway speeds. You may or may not really care.
just an opinion.

just shake/vibration. no noise though.
padsave30 10-09-2009, 08:40 PM Kool vues vibrate horribly... had them on my 2000 2500 for about a week before I returned them....
Bought OEMs for my LMM, much better. Go with OEM, youl be happy
heymccall 10-09-2009, 08:55 PM None of my Kool-vues vibrate.
Perhaps one of the motor clips popped in shipping?
transferred 10-09-2009, 10:29 PM Another vote for OEM. Plus I like that the LMM mirrors are affixed straight rather than at an angle like on the 07 and older rigs.

That's just how they bolt up to the door... On the LMM the area where they fix the mirror's to is more adjacent to the ground than that of the classic body style... It's possible to mod the Tow mirror's mount to get a more "leveled" look on a classic body style truck. Personnally I like the angled look much better, I feel it give's the truck a "fast/aggressive" look but that's just my opinion which doesn't count for much.
EDIT: FYI The LMM and LBZ and older truck's use the same tow mirror

You wanna try that again??? I've got lunch money to bet today;).

What the ****'s your problem... So the new (lmm) mirror won't work with the classic body style??? Is that what your saying?!
heymccall 10-10-2009, 12:55 AM What the ****'s your problem... So the new (lmm) mirror won't work with the classic body style??? Is that what your saying?!
Did I stutter?
x MadMAX DIESEL 10-10-2009, 12:59 AM UHHHHHH well dick**** you sure got ansy about it... let me get this straight.... the TOW MIRRORS wont work on a classic??????? is taht correct? or were you thinking the regular half ton mirrors?
heymccall 10-10-2009, 01:04 AM FYI The LMM and LBZ and older truck's use the same tow mirror
This statement is wrong. Making that assumption causes fellow members to purchase the wrong mirrors, or trade for the wrong mirrors.

How is it wrong??? Please elaborate.. You make yourself off to be pretty smart, let's all hear the reason's why your soo smart. prove me wrong please, I won't lose any sleep over it....
Horsehaulin 10-10-2009, 01:13 AM Ok boys and girls. Enough is enough, knock off the profanity, please. No reason to become a internet bully, Heymccall has some of the best brake system knowledge and is right about these mirrors IIRC. Something about the wiring and mount patern is slightly differant. Correct me if I am wrong.

lol hes saying they wont work, obviously.. reason being LMM mirrors have a different mounting base then the OBS.
x MadMAX DIESEL 10-10-2009, 01:17 AM I don't believe that is right.. But whatever he's got more post's so he must be right.
x MadMAX DIESEL 10-10-2009, 01:18 AM I would however like to see fact's.. Like I said I'm not losing sleep over it I'm just trying to understand he's coming from... Sorry for the language though I deff over reated but idk why... Still some proof would be just dandy

Sorry for the language though I deff over reated but idk why... Still some proof would be just dandyI know a member bought a set for his 06 and couldnt get them to either bolt in or wire up correctly. I cant remember as it has been more than a year ago I heard about that.

These are mirror's not Brake's
x MadMAX DIESEL 10-10-2009, 01:23 AM Still I'm not seeing proof. That may because it"s false info or I just havent seen any yet. Who know's?! Either why I'm not convinced.
Horsehaulin 10-10-2009, 01:26 AM He knows more about these trucks than just brakes. He only owns lik 7 or 8 of them currently. I am not going to get into this debate any more than I already have, just keep it clean and play nice guys. We are all here for one purpose, to enjoy our selves and the sport we love.
x MadMAX DIESEL 10-10-2009, 01:40 AM Okay cool.. I'll quit my Whinning too but I would really love to see some literature on the subject... Anyone feel free to fill me in, I must be outta the loop.
Horsehaulin 10-10-2009, 02:01 AM No worries, somedays I feel the same way. Oh wait thats almost everyday :D
heymccall 10-10-2009, 02:25 AM Specifically, there are three distinct fitments of the "elephant ear" vertical camper mirror available for purchase. From the outside, they ALL appear identical. There are also many variations, including manual, power, non-heated, heated, w/o signal, and with signal.
The '99-'02 version is provided with a short harness and attaches to a harness connector located behind the door panel up near the mounting point. Obviously, the manual version would be lacking the connector and harness.http://static.am-autoparts.com//item/cb6cfc4be5.jpg
Take note of the short harness length.
The '03-'07 version comes with two plug on the Driver's side and one plug for the Pass side. They connect directly into the underside of the door modules (which also house the power window switches). http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/13000043/Images/21/chevy_tow_towing_mirror.jpg
Again, take note of the plug and longer harness length.
The '07.5-'10 versions not only have different connectors to the door modules, they also utilize a different mounting bolt pattern, albeit still with three studs, and the triangle bezel has a different profile to better match the new door assembly.
http://static.am-autoparts.com//item/2d9abf7fee.jpg
Also, note the percieved angle difference at the mounting bracket, as the '07.5-'10 mirrors were designed, from the start, to sit more level.
Technically, one could lop the plugs off on any '99-'07 mirror and wire them into their truck, BUT, certainly, I wouldn't need or want the frustrations of searching again for the wiring harness diagrams. Backdating from GMT-900 to the GMT-800 would require quite a bit of physical modification along with quite a bit of wiring rethinking.

Who cares how many posts either of us has.
I am most likely not smarter than you or anyone else here, BUT, I have had the mirrors off of every model year from '96-'09 and I am willing to share the knowledge and experience I've gained with everyone here. I also have quite a few of the Kool-vues in service, due to "incidents" in the real world.
You don't have to believe my opinions or statements on brakes either, BUT, again, I've been there and I am willing to share.

Thanks for the great info Mccall. I think for money I save I'm going to try the kool vues. I have power heated mirrors now, if I get the ones that have the directionals in them will they work with my truck? I'm assuming the harness is all the same. Thanks again!

For your '08, YES, but, you may have to disable the park assist feature on your mirrors. That's where the mirrors you have now tilt/ aim downward in reverse.

greif03lb7 10-11-2009, 12:11 PM Heymccall has it dead on that is how the 3 different body styles vary right there when talking mirrors anyway. I have seen 07nbs mirrors on an 04 but the plugs wont work and the triangle part that sits on the door was not the same and he had to drill and move a mounting bolt. They looked like the right ones until you got close and he had no power to them.
Horsehaulin 10-11-2009, 02:38 PM Debate over! Now lets all have a great Sunday, and thanks for the info brake master. :D

I assume this means that you paid $2 more for just one mirror? The ebay listing is for the pair.
I too am shopping for a set of 2006ish mirrors for my 04 as I have the accordion style right now and I really don't care for them at all.
jmoodsII 10-12-2009, 02:03 PM Sorry-for the set of passenger and driver - I paid roughly $2.00 from GM parts direct than the listed Buy it Now link the OP included.

Ah, I see that is a complete kit. Wish that I could get a similar kit for 2006 mirrors for that price.

They dont fit. My buddy had a set off his old 05 that he gifted to my buddy for his 08. They didn't fit. I was there as he tried to install them.
It also appears that you were given some other proof here.
I think you might owe someone an apoplogy. Man up.

0R3GON CCLB 10-16-2010, 12:41 PM how did this thread even make it this far? isnt this kinda like asking if my 1978 chevys mirror will bolt directly onto my 2003? look at it its clearly different the trucks dont even look remotely similar why is this so hard to believe?

Ya know, if you had waited only another two months and two more days to interject, this thread would have lain dormant for a full year:rolleyes:.
So, this thread made it this far because "you" awoke it from it's peaceful slumber in remote server land;).
