Well after towing for 4 years with my 94 gmc 350 I knew I'd be impressed with the dmax allison but it exceeded my expectations. The whole trip went better...hookup, flats , hill climbs, milage, even parking. I had the nicest truck in the CG by far and didn't po the nieghbours with noise or smell (the truck OR my holding tanks ..gg). I'm already expanding my summer camping plans based on this first outing. Gonna be great. Even all the 5th appliances worked! Best trip yet! Rained on and off but I hardly noticed. The pulling power is very imprssive but what really floored me was the extra braking power with tow haul to slow the rig and and the 4 wheel disks...awesome. I used to be white knuckled over the idiots who'd dive in front in traffic...no more.

Cheers,
Paul

I just towed my 5er for the first time last night with my new truck. WOW! What a difference. The trailer was completely full with water, food etc. Maybe 7500 LBS. I havent smiled like that while pulling a trailer ever, I bet people I was passing thought I was crazy. I know that truck can handle alot more weight but I just couldnt believe I was in 5th gear the whole time, even going up hills. I did have to take it somewhat slow, my buddy has a small 20ft Itaska with a 350 in it. He was having a hard time keeping up so... Anyway I know you guys have heard all this before but I couldnt help my self, this truck is absolutely the Bee's Knees.:ro)

It only gets better!! Bigger truck means bigger toys to haul!

The Dmax is certainly "da bomb" for towing. I've never driven a pickup before that was so well suited for towing. Some people will never understand why we pay $7000 more for the D/A combo, but I'm sure a towing trip will make them believers.

I can't agree more, been on here since just before I got my truck 5 weeks ago pulled my Camaro to Nationals in PA. Didn't even know she was behind me. I feel every pound with the 95 Z71 and the Tahoe's wheel base is just 2 short. This truck RULES, does run a little warm I think for a deisel but that's another post!

Would also like thank everyone for the great information on this site:ro)
