Has anyone mounted speakers in the rear doors of an extra cab? Since I have a storage bin under the seat I was thinking of putting subs in the rear doors with a diamond plate panel to mount the sub in. I'm only looking at 8" or possibly 10"s. I want to keep the factory head unit and replace all the factory speakers. I'm not really a stereo guy so I'll have a shop do the install. Any ideas?

Subs have to be mounted in a box with the correct volume of air. You cant put them in the doors because the doors are not a sealed "box". You can keep all the factory stereo but you will have to add an amp for the subs. You can (but i wouldnt) use the factory stereo to run the subs. if youve got a storage box under the seat you can get 8's or 10's behind the seat pretty easily. You can put any upgraded speakers you want in the truck as long as they are the same size. hope that covers it all.
