: When to use N2O?
crashcade 05-24-2005, 12:03 AM I am going to be using a single fogger installed post turbo probably running a a small jet for just a little more power. I am going to set this up on a button in cab so that I am controlling when it is used. My question is, Do you have to wait until a certain RPM, or certain boost to use it. I know in a gasser turbo app, you use it to help the turbo spool up, is it the same on a diesel app?
dieselrcr337 05-24-2005, 02:03 AM I hit mine off the line. as soon as my truck moves. i used to hit it at the same time with my petal. but now that i run a bigger jet its too much and i have to wait till the truck moves alittle bit.
Kappa9012 05-24-2005, 02:24 PM I think superdiesel's setup engages at a certain boost setting, 13lbs or something in that neighborhood?
Had me confused at first with the post turbo comment. I'm thinking why the hell is he gonna shoot n2o into his exhaust?:duh:

Cool off EGT's?
ratlover 05-24-2005, 08:09 PM I have my first stage coming in at WOT. I build a few pounds of boost and launch and its spraying as soon as my foot hits the floor.
Better have a built trans or your going to piss off the stocker.
05LLY2500HD 06-05-2005, 04:50 PM Will a SC III hold using smaller jets of nitrous? I remember McRat saying something of it not holding through the shifts. Anyone running N2o and a SCIII? I've always been afraid of using it, but I'm beginning to lean towards it, all that black smoke does get annoying after a while, too ya know.
fredw 06-05-2005, 04:54 PM mine is set to come on at 17lbs boost, working off of a hobs
king d 06-06-2005, 10:01 PM depends on the amount of smoke you have with the bdog cldl if you stage at 1800 or better by the time you let off brakes and hit the throttle and boost juast starts to really rise, hit the botton
ratlover 06-08-2005, 06:57 PM Thi biggest problem with spray and transmissions is the damn TCM is too smart for us. You get it all traind and it has everything figured out and then all of a suddend you add a **** ton of HP that its not used to dealing with and it says "hey F you! What the heck is going on here:confused: "
I'd call Joe at suncoast but if you have a driver that you flogg and then make a pass at the track with spray you are going to need to do something with the damn adaptive learning. I tried not getting on it hard or doing anything close to WOT unless I was spraying so it wouldnt learn bad habbits but the damn thing did anyway.
Super Diesel 06-09-2005, 02:25 AM For the SCIII, I would do a heavy duty pump spring and a Co-pilot (sorry Joe) just for holding insurance. Already trashed some clutch packs from that test. The bigger up grade on the SC is also a very good option.
turbo-max 06-16-2005, 09:49 AM anyone care to elaborate on the NOS system jet size they run, and the the power increase levels are please?
ratlover 06-16-2005, 11:34 AM Depends greatly on your programing. Definatly need a built trans. Start small and keep going till you slow down. If you want to 1/2 assed tune it on the street keep going up till you are just hazing a wee bit of smoke out the tail pipe. If you arnt smoking black now more air(nitrous) aint what your after.
So start small and stop jetting up when.....
You run outa hair on your sack
You slow down
You blow something up

okay, care to give some jet sizes?
IdahoRob 06-16-2005, 08:52 PM I'm running a .55 jet with predator on 100 and pane. I still have some smoke and will try a .62 this weekend. I started with a .51 and it ran good.
Rob
ratlover 06-16-2005, 08:55 PM Like I said, what would work for me wont work for you. Even and LB7 running different programing would be different. Location also plays a BIG part, the CO boys can/need more spray that sea level guys. Talk to McRat, he has sprayed on a LLY, I think dzl racer or something like that has too. Also make sure when you are setting it up using other people as a base line if they are running 2 stage or what have you and your not or vice vrsa. You cant just add orfice sizes together. a .05 and a .05 is not the equivilent to a .100 Mkae sense???
turbo-max 06-17-2005, 12:25 AM so nitrous will not do much, or anything on a stocker? ( i need a predator badly)
dieselrcr337 06-17-2005, 12:46 AM Check my sig with a .102 jet. Does sliping slicks on dyno affect dyno hp much?
gain just over 100 RWHP
ratlover 06-17-2005, 04:40 PM You need more fuel(via a programer, propane ect ) before you can add air(bigger turbo N2O, ect)
Also with just a programer you will be able to be at the limits of a stock trans or above it. Add N2O on top of that and the stock trans dosnt stand a chance.

10-4, thanx for the input i was realy loking for:exactly:
Micheal Tomac 06-21-2005, 01:26 PM with a single stage using a .059 - .062 jet at the IAH you want to launch above 1600rpm if you want to spray out of the hole. The bigger the jet the higher the rpm you'll have to launch if you still want to spray out of the hole.
Dmax Tim 06-23-2005, 02:47 PM so nitrous will not do much, or anything on a stocker? ( i need a predator badly)
Other than keep your local speed shop in business, NO.
U won't see much if any gain and u better go SMALL on the nozzle.
