it all depends on what you want to do with it
if you are gonna get a chip then you will want to TM to incress boost
but if you dont then it just sustains boost thu your RPM range and you can incress boost a very little like 1-2 psi before your comp goes nuts

i havent drivin my truck with it installed (im in Iraq) so im unable to tell but from what i read it gives you more power in higher RPMs due to there was no boost before but i dont know for sure yet but some one that has on will chime in and tell us both what will happen :)

i didnt feel a difference after installing my heath tm but it makes me feel more confident that the boost will be there instead of waiting for a vacum system to go out to lunch

Turbomaster will not improver performance. For me anyways. I had a chip that utilized the vacuum system (increased boost already), only reason I installed a turbomaster was because my wastegate actuator wasn't working properly and I didn't feel like diagnosing the vac system.

Now my vac system is non existent.

Vacuum system is great when it works, which isn't to say it's unreliable...just that things will eventually go wrong. I like the security of a mechanical actuator as well as the possibility of turning the boost up a bit. Plus it makes things simpler in the engine bay. I'm still going to keep all the vacuum stuff though, in case I change my mind down the road

I ordered one from Heath last Thursday. I can't wait to get it installed. It should be here the same time my gauges come in. So I will have lots of goods to play with. Installed a new crossover & down pipe today & half of my 4" exhaust. I waiting on a 90 degree elbow to come so I can finish the 5" stack exhaust.

you will feel verry little difference but when you step on it on the highway to overtake it gives you better responce because you have that instant boost .
Plus I took off my vacume pump and that gave me less drag on the engine and less things to brake down

I saw a big difference since my vacuum operated waste gate was toast. Now I can hear the turbo whining. I also bought their PCM to go with it.

You need it for EGR unless you get a reflash.

I, personally, am sticking with vacuum.

Ah this is true, didn't notice he had a 1/2 ton. That's a bummer

The only reason that I am getting one is because I purchasing the GL4 from heath also.

Only if it is a S engine mine is a f engine NO EGR

I think RC was talking to the original poster. All suburbans are F engines... The 1/2 trucks were EGR engines (S)

I think that's who I was talking to too, since that's who I quoted. And yes, yes, yes.

The vacuum pump was toast on my truck when I bought it, so I built my own TM at a cost of less than $3 and took me only about 15 minutes to do it vrs. buying a $100 vacuum pump. I'm very happy with it.

I had my boost gauge installed before my TM installed. With stock set up I would get about 5psi on hard acceleration & maybe 1-2psi cruising. Now with the Tm installed I cruise around at 5psi & 7-8psi when I get on it. Now I need to turn my pump up & adjust the TM more, so I can get to 15psi. I can tell a difference.
