I have a 2005 GMC Sierra crew cab dually diesel. My instrument cluster background lighting for speed, RPM, etc; along with my 4wd position indicator light all went out at the same time. I think I've checked all the fuses; but it's a little confusing as to which exact fuse controls that group of lighting. I checked all the one's that seemed to have anything to do with instrument lights.

The Park/Drive/Reverse inicator lighting; as well as the radio, exterior lighting, and interior cab lighting is all working fine; just the background speed/rpm/ect... lighting has gone out.

Also not working are:
Steering wheel lights
Hvac outside knobs
Fog light indicator
Fuel, oil, and temp gauge lights
All main dash other than park....reverse

This seems like it must be a fuse since the 4wd indicator is not the same light as the background instrument cluster, hvac nobs, and other lights.

Any ideas?????

Thanks for the help.

I have the exact same issue on my 06. Cant find a fuse. Gm said my cluster was pooched without even looking. Right now im just driving it, but I need a fix also. Anyone know? Or Anything aftermarket even for clusters?

Thanks.

I did finally find my problem and it was basically a fuse that doesn’t sound anything like it would have something to do with the instrument cluster at all. I did this a while back; so now I'm remembering which fuse after the fact. I’m pretty positive it’s the fuse marked “CEO Accessory” and it’s located in the small fuse panel on the side of the dash inside the truck. It did correct my dash light problem.

Hi. I found mine to. I went to GM and they said there was no fuses. Thought that was really weird as it was electrical. Anyway i looked also, and found 3 fuses labeled tbc. Not sure what it stood for, but one was burnt. Replaced, and lit up :) It was lso located in the dash fuses in case anyone is looking down the road.
