: Speed Limiter Sucks Again

I pulled out on the main road in front of Powerstroke. I was about 300 yards ahead of him and getting on it a little so not to hold him up. He starts to accelerate to match my speed. Next thing I know I am up against the limiter. He is 100 yards back and not gaining but it sure sucks that I couldn't have pulled away. I am running "The Juice" version 4.61. I was in regular mode step 4. My truck almost seems to be quicker on step 2 in Tow/Haul. What mode do you drag racers use? Please don't tell me I am too old for racing. A Bear already did that. :D Later! Frank

You could pick up a used power pup or just about any programmer and overide your speed limiter. They even work for checking codes and quite a few different things.

I had a bumper sticker on a Camaro I had years ago that said 'I may be getting older, But I refuse to grow up!'

You're never to old to have fun Frank!:badidea:

In Tow Haul your getting TC lock up sooner that's why it feels faster.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to run 4 and 4 and reprogram when I tow. I really knew better but forgot. That seems to happen more ofter as I get older. I will get another shot at this guy. I recognized his truck. Later! Frank

Hey Frank, I think it's called having a "Senior Moment". Or "Sometimers" disease. :D

Happens to me every so often as well. ;)

One dyno day I learned that there is a quick change you can make to the HJ that shuts down the defuel. You still have a rev and speed limiter but at least it seems that you don't 'back up' !! Hit the 'enter' twice and fast. then push the '^' to as many as 30 minutes. Then hit 'enter'. this made the dyno and draggin much better.

cheers,

In OD.

In T/H it will stay locked in all forward gears but first is my belief during WOT.
