Well let me start with how it happened.......

I was out in the woods Monday after wook with my cousin. In a spot that I go to all the time. went in around 5. Then around 7 I started to head out. I come out of a flag pond in 2wd. got stuck. Put it in 4wh.
Then all hell broke loose. I hit the gas and sounded like a bomb went off in my front end. I go to get out to see what the damage is, and then my "no oil pressure" light comes on. I shut it off quickly and was like WTF. I go to get out of my truck. jumped into the water and was covered in oil. (water is up to my frame.)
Cant really tell were the oil is coming from. look at the front end broken drives CV joint at the diff. Took 3 trucks 3hrs to pull me out due to me not being able to start my motor.
I get out of the woods at 12. call AAA for a tow. go to look under my truck and :eek:everthing is ****ed. Lost the front drive shaft. It took out my oil filter, beat the shit out of my tranny pan, and broke my shift linkage. I also ripped 3 of the four studs on the dif. cracked the case in half. blew both of my Cv's. Thats all we can tell as of now. Until me and by buddy can tear the lift down.
Luckly didnt blown the motor.
Heres the plan:
1. hope my lift isnt twisted. and take all 4x4 stuff out and ride 2wd till tax return time. When I already was planning SAS.
2. If lift is ****ed. im planning on doing this kit http://www.norcaltruck.com/shop/prod...roducts_id=794 (http://www.norcaltruck.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=794)
with a dodge dana 60. and setting it at 8 inches so i will not have to lift the rear right away. Steering my buddy will fab (owns a shop). And be helping me with the entire lift.
Question:
-what is need to do to the transfercase inorder to get a DS in?
- later down the line can I do like 14" king coilover in that kit?

DO NOT use the Dodge front axle unless you like to do things over and over and over. the ball joint front axle BLOWES ASS and so do the unit bearings in them. be smart use the ford King pins style front axle. If you are gona spen the money do it right the first time. Im putting ford king opin ends on a dodge truck for a guy cause hes tired of replacing ball joints and unit bearings.
Just My .02c Oh yea I allmost forgot that if you use chevy outters and spindles you can use your existing brake calipers with a kit a guy has (advanced four wheel drives in salt lake Ut) or he has adapters to use late style ford calipers with the ford stuff but its spendy for custom 35 spline outters. AWW CRAP just pm me if you want the real skinny on the good stuff.
Sorry your shit blew up:(

carli has upgraded ball joints, not that big of a deal. and if king pins are so great then why dont ford or dodge use them anymore? i have a 78 chevy with a king pin dana 60 and they need replacing and the axle is a 93 and my 84 chevy with a 10 bolt w/ball joints has over 3xxx,xxx miles and still does 85mph down the freeway with no problems.
