Still having issue on the LLY. Have you done a full update of the EFILive software and brought the Flashscan firmware and bootblock up to date?
Is the tune for a 06 LLY and not a 05 or earlier LLY?
I also assume you selected the correct ECM?
Look at the ECM and compare it to the picture of the controller that is displayed when you select it. Or you can check this PDF file with images of the controllers EFILive can do. http://download.efilive.com/Tutorials/PDF/Bench%20Harness%20Tutorial.pdf

This message tells us that FlashScan didn't connect to the truck correctly. Are you able to scan the vehicle? and can you make sure you've selected LBZ as the ECM type when you go to read the tune.

this happens when i try to downlod the stock tune. we think that there is a hypertech or superchips on it from the previous owner. is this what it would do if that were the case.
i tried to select lly and lbz and i get the same messages

This may be dumb but I too could not unlock the ECM until I disconnected the USA-spec ipod radio interface. Do you have such an animal installed or some other after market device that you are aware of?

is the v1 only good to 2005 model year?

FlashScan V1 will not work on 06 LLY, LBZ or LMM due to communication protocol changes.
FlashScan V2 will work on all Duramaxes LB7 through to LMM.

The problem here is that you have a V1 and are trying to read/program an 06 LLY. To read/tune that vehicle you'll need to upgrade to V2.

Glad you finally got it figured out why it could not be read. Looks like time to upgrade to a V2. You can move your licenses over to the V2 and your set to go. You be ready for the EFILive future just around the corner. Or another corner maybe. If you think about it get a V2 and transfer your licenses over and put the V1 up for sell on here. Just specify no licenses on it and limited to 2005 or older OBDII compliant. Might be a LB7 or LLY non 06 wanting to do EFILive cheap.

i dont think im going to upgrade any time soon because i have an lb7 and all my other buddies are lb7's and lly's. except one.
