How do I disable the panic part of the alarm system? At least
10 times now the alarm has gone off when the keys in my pocket
magically press the button. I have to stop that. What fuse do I
pull, or do I have to just glue the button open?

Easiest way would be to take the transmitter apart and place a bit of tape over the panic button contact.

I have had it happen a couple times.
Last time was last week and it happened twice in a row. Its really annoying, even more so when your in a neighborhood and dont want to draw attention to yourself.

This panic alarm is one of many GM engineering gems. I bet I set mine off 50 times before "fixing" it. I fixed it by opening the case and trimming about 1/16 inch thickness off of the red button with a razor blade. It's now recessed, and I've set it off by accident only a couple of times since. I never, never had this problem with any of my cheap aftermarket alarms.

Don't give the keys to my brother, he always sets it off just playing around and usually at crowded places.
