I have an 03 duramax with 68k miles on it. It has been perfect. Suddenly in the last month or so, the exhaust is letting out a lot of smoke. No problems starting, no loss of power, no change in oil pressure cold or running.

What do you think - the famous injectors going?

I have a problem - I live in an area with very few diesels, and so many GM dealerships have closed the 2 I used for service are gone. I got to a local guy - can they do the injectors free is need be?

Thanks,

Steve

Yep, bad injectors.
Have fun trying to get GM to replace them. A buddy of mine took his to three dealers when it was pumping straight fuel out the tail pipe and the first two said no go on the warranty. The third completely screwed up his engine. Gave it back to him with it barely running, fuel spraying back into the engine, and coolant pouring out of it. It turns out the feed lines were rusted and the oil charge guy they had do it, instead of one of the three diesel tech they had, just slapped the old lines back on without even looking at them. They also broke the o-ring on the coolant metal coolant line. This is besides the multiple missing bolts, clamps and WIF sensor. I hope it work out better for you.
