: Exhaust?
bajatoy 05-22-2005, 06:42 PM I have been looking throught the forums for posts of good exhaust systems, but can't seem to find any. Are there any good TURBO back kits for a CC-SC LB7 Duramax/Allison combo? Any body running the Banks kit? Magnaflow? I want my truck louder. I hear the Banks installs good, but is quiet, I have also heard that the Silverline kits are a bear to installbut sound pretty good? Anybody out there happy with the kits they have on their tucks???
Mike.....:help:
Bodysurfer 05-22-2005, 09:27 PM I am running BANKS cat-back now. Like it and it was easy to install. Just taking out the stock system took some time getting it off the hangers. Going to put a new front pipe on to get rid of the cat soon (hint..hint.. Clyde). Anyway, here are a few pics:

GMC2500HD 05-22-2005, 09:29 PM Well I am just running a stock exhaust which has been straight piped.. Sounds good and kept me from spending the extra money on that and left it for other stuff. I will eventually upgrade to a 4" system but for now the stock with no muffler is ok with me...
Jim659 05-22-2005, 09:35 PM I run the Silverline, fairly easy install and sounds great.
_nar_ 05-23-2005, 01:39 AM You must not have been looking in the right place. Look back though the "Old Power & Performance" and you'll find 100 different threads about exhaust. If you like mbrp there is also a good writeup here: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10846
noreaster 05-23-2005, 09:01 AM I have the Banks exhaust on my truck. It's loud enough for me, its got a nice low rumble at idle & comes to life at wot. I've had it for almost 2 years now,it's louder now than it was 2 years ago.
It's nice to have an exhaust thats loud when you want it to be & quiets right down when you back off the throttle. Like when your going by a cop.
DSTRBD 05-23-2005, 11:17 AM bajatoy- Check out the MBRP systems. The standard system bolts up to the 4 bolt flange, but you can also order the optional front-pipe to make it a down-pipe back system. NO ONE makes a true turbo-back system for stock application. The MBRP systems are also very easy to install. Check our website for pricing.
Mark Craig 05-23-2005, 11:31 AM bajatoy,
Check out the reviews section too we supplied a MBRP T-304 dual kit for the review and there are pics and such so that you can see the whole install start to finish etc. There are also a zillin threads in the Old section liek the guys said as well.
The systems are available in aluminized, 409 and 304 stainless in singles and duals as well. Give us a call if you have any questions etc.

socaldieseltech 05-25-2005, 01:28 AM Speaking of "turbo back" exhaust systems for a duramax, I pretty much had to argue with a guy last week about this. He wanted to talk to me about a "turbo back" exhaust for a dmax, I told him there weren't any available. He says, you don't have any? or there aren't any?....I explained the story about how there is a tight space there and there isn't one available for the dmax. Anyone who has had to change a downpipe on a dmax knows they are a huge pain in the A$$. He told me thats funny because Gibson has one and so does Banks and that I was full of it because they couldn't advertise as such if it wasn't really turbo back. OK, go buy it from them and show me the downpipe, I'd love to see it.
Bodysurfer 05-25-2005, 01:34 AM Sounds like he really doesnt know the diff between turbo down and downpipe (aka front pipe).
Clyde, like my signature?

I bet he never comes back.
socaldieseltech 05-25-2005, 02:26 AM Well he kinda went off the deep end as soon as I told him there was no real downpipe. I was bummed, because I was being truthful with him, but he basically told me I was full of cr@p. Bodysurfer, great sig!
