My drivers window took a dump yesterday and figure after reading here on the forum the cable probalby split or broke. Its raining hard right now so I can take the door apart today, but am going to napa to buy the whole regulator assembly and motor $110. Question is, is the regulator assembly bolted on or rivited on in a 2002. Also any tips would be appreciated, I'm sure this is something I can fix myself. Thanks.

Mine was bolted on.
Hold the glass up with duct tape or a glass suction cup. Be carefull of the sharp edges of the window track and the inside of the door.
The door panel lifts up and off after the screw behind the small panel at the door handle and I believe there is one under the window switches. Disconnect all door wires for the windows and little door light.
After the new guts are installed you may have to adjust the window itself in the clips which hold the window to the track. So make sure the window closes properly into the channel before putting the panel back on.

The job really isnt the tough. The hardest part is trying to put the damn door panel back on. You have to make sure the bottom clips and top clips all line up to the door slots and slide the door panel back down over the door.

Thanks ski, that helps. To get the door panel on and off I was going to have my son who was a sound system installer for a long time pop the door panel on and off for me. The rain hasn't let off so I will call him later in the day if it stops. I didn't think about the window adjustment before closing it up, so that is a good tip to look out for. Thanks again,
Rich

New regulator and assembly in and out in less than 1 hour. My son came over popped the panel off and had it done quick. The old one had plastic gear parts on it that were breaking into little pieces and jamming things up, while the cable itself looked good.
