What do I need to delete the cat with an already installed banks single pipe exhaust? What can I use to be able to replace the cat and still put it back for smog? Also what do I need if anything to take away the fault codes? I have a 04.5-5 LLY with a banks system including exhaust installed with an EF9 truck.

No one has done this mod with a banks? Is it like any other system or should i be expecting something different?

Banks doesn't show a Cat Delete pipe on their website, and when I ordered my Cat Back the guy said the VVT turbo likes a little back pressure any way so I dropped it at that. "If the guy who could make a few bucks selling a part doesn't think it's necessary why should I spend the money", I thought.
Now I'm having second thoughts.
I'm thinking any cat delete pipe from any of the vendors here should work. The Banks system is a direct bolt up, so there is no geometry problems with what ever pipe you put in where the cat goes.
Others have said it's a 20-45 minute change out.

Hi,
What you want to do is order a 4 inch pipe from the turbo back for a lb7 from Banks. It will come with the everything you need but...you will have to read the instructions and cut one end (depending on what cab you have).

This is one mod you will really feel.

It is a breeze if you pull the tranny support. Then you can change back if needed thats what I did.

What they said, read my signature. The MBRP front cat delete pipe was a very easy add on. I did have to trim about 6" off the front end of the Banks pipe. All the old exhaust was removed intact and it can all be reistalled if needed.

Thanks everyone i will look into that and see what i can do. That make me feel better about buying a few things knowing others have them installed and working already.

I did the same. Picked up a front pipe from Nick at NorCal truck. Better spool up and sounds much sicker!!!!!! There was not cutting to be down on my LLY exhaust. Direct bolt on

After doing this replacing the cat with an FE9 truck what is needed if anything to make sure the truck does not throw codes? What did you guys use? Any some what cheap options?

I am aware of a few programmers that will do the job if that is needed but what did the rest of you banks guys do? Did you spend the money and get a new programmer to handle the code problem or were codes not a problem?
