My 2005 2500 D-Max has a strange brake issue. The issue is; when the brakes are applied the pedal moves towards the floor board in stages, somewhat like when the ASB kicks in, but more noticeable. Scares you, thing it won't stop the truck, but it always has. The issue only appears during a parking situation. So very slow speeds and steering, like to get in or out of a parking spot. Only recall it happening in drive, not reverse.
The truck has 83,000 miles and the brake pads have been replaced and the rear rotors as well, all by the dealer and not recently. Powers steering pump was replaced at around 20k.
Any thoughts about what might be causing this ?

Corrosion under the WSS (wheel speed sensor) or a failing front wheel bearing assy.

Just as an update my issue was a front wheel bearing. Thanks for the information, lead me right to the problem. :)

Can the issue with the brake sensors cause the ABS and Emergency Brake lights to come on simultaniously intermitently? I have already cleaned up and "regrounded" the ABS computer and I am still getting the lights.
