I will take (and post) updated pictures tomorrow. Anyways, I started a project to put a 6.2L into a jeep cherokee. I swapped the engine and transmission (700r4) from a 1983 chevrolet suburban (2wd) into a 95 jeep cherokee. I got motor mounts from advance adapters.
I swapped over to the 6.5 serpentine belt system (the van version, should have got the other version where the water outlet points to the driver's side instead of up). No room for the power steering pump, switched to a manual steering gearbox.
The stock driveshaft fits the output shaft of the transmission, but it only gives about 1" of spline engagement. I need to swap in a 4WD axle and transmission (of the 700r4). I installed a 5" lift on the cherokee.
I needed to modify the passenger side of the firewall with a hammer.
I still need to do many things to get it running, but I don't have a place to work on it currently. I need to run the cables (super size 4/0 cables) for the batteries (they will go behind the rear seat), I need to wire the alternator and glow plugs (I have a home-made controller). The A/C lines need to be swapped over to the correct compressor. I need to make some exhaust headers. The rest is minor stuff, although those things will probably add up to a good chunk of work.
