I'm wiring up my P3 and the factory harness states that if the aux battery (optio Tp2) is present that the 40A breaker for stud 1 is not needed.
I don't see Tp2 in my RPOs in the glovebox, but I've got two batteries under the hood.....so is the breaker needed? currently there isn't one in.
thanks, I'm a brake controller newb!

What year? If it is an LMM, new body style the 30amp fuse is already in place but you will need to connect a wire to stud #2. Can't speak for other years, I have seen talk of dummy fuses needed to be replaced. You might meter the studs and see if there is power.

I believe the TP2 is a reference to the GMT-900 platform Trucks and SUVs that are gas related. Also Duramax engines came with dual battery but the TP2 is and option for gasser version vehicles. The 2008 have real fuse in its place. At least mine does. I think the classic series had some with blanks in them.

Brake controller goes to Stud #2.......Stud #1 is for trailer charging.

Thanks for the help!
