29,500 miles and truck reset the hours used to "0". I let the truck sit for 7 days and that is when it happen. Doesn't seem to effect the running. It shows 7 hours now, so it just started over like the truck motor is new. Should I take it to the dealer or just forget it.

That seems to be a common problem and as far as I know it is no big deal and there is nothing you can do about it. Someone else might know a solution for the problem if there is one.

Mine recently did it as well because the batteries are not holding charge. I'll be changing them out today. There goes $200.

TX this happened to me at about the same mileage and mentioned this to the dealer when I had my roof liner replaced under warranty. They said everything was fine and did not restore the lost hours? It has been fine for the last 20k so not worried about it, although I had an instrument cluster go bad on my 03 LB7 that did not affect the hr meter.

Thanks for all the replys, ZuesSuz, that is what I was thinking, the dealer would just say let it go. Will keep running it now.

any speedo repair can reset it to what ever you like. I have had it done before.
