I have an 04.5 crew cab duramax 4x4 with the allison and Edge Juice/attitude combo. Feel bad that i've been beating her to death, so I have a line on an 03 work truck extra cab long bed 2wd 6 speed with 126000 miles and injectors replace at 122000 miles. New fly wheel at 125000. They want 16,000, which blue books at 2000 less then private party, 500 more then trade in. This a good deal, should I look at other things? This would be solely a work truck to put a rack and tool box in and go from place to place, towing a bobcat everyone and a while, and I would still two the heavier stuff with my 04. Any help would be appreciated.

Loco...I have an '03 and have not had any major issues with the truck. It has been a great running and towing truck. I would, however, go to the Vin Check folder and have one the members that are tech's run the VIN just to see and verify the work that may have been done at the dealership level.

After you tow with that 6 speed you might not want to go back to a slushbox!

I'll be really courious to see how it tows. Its going to be cool to have and LB7 with a 6 speed and an LLY with an allison.

I would say the other way around, after I towed with the Allison, I would never go back to a manual.
