So my dad is talking with a young guy at a seminar and he notices this GORGEOUS 1993 crew cab long box 4x4 rolling in. Long story short, it was completly rebuilt from ground up. The guy opens up the hood and there are TWO (YES, TWO) turbos sitting underneath the hood. The guy tore down the motor twice and fabricated up a twin turbo set up with out any hood modifications. Has an intercooler, rebuilt IP, motor, etc. He spent quite a bit rebuilding the motor but told me dad he is laying down 1000ft lbs of TORQUE!!!. My dad said it sounded like a raped ape and was hands down the best looking truck he has EVER seen for that style and age.

He apparently has been asked numerous times to showcase his truck in magazines but won't because he said its his truck and nobody will ever build one close to it. Somebody must know something that we don't. He said he hasn't turned up the pump any so something just isn't clicking in my mind. My dad is going to try and take a picture of the motor interior tomorrow and you guys can guarantee those pics will show up on here.

farmboy56, get your dad to get his name and phone number and PM it to me. I will tell him I will race him when my truck is done. Assuming he has a 6.5 or 6.2.

LOL, I doubt that would happen. Im sure that guy on youtube with the 82 SWB would be a better chance but don't plan on him showing ya his motor interior.

That's gotta be some motor and I can't wait to see/hear about what ChevyinlineSix's motor is going to do.
FWIW, I watched Bill Heath put a twin turbo'd 6.3 loaner motor down the Salt Flats last Thursday. 147mph at the 1/4. Top speed for the run was 152 and it slowed down in 4th due to too high a top end gear.... Great motors these. This one wasn't as loud as my stock exhaust either. Even hauling down the flat, the Sub's motor was louder driving down the return road.

something does not sound right, if you had that kind of power and built a nice truck why would you not show it off unless you know it is bs and don't want someone to call you out, im having a hard time believing it has that kind of number and not blowing itself to pieces

Just thought I'd throw this out there, I have called nearly every manufacturer that can make custom parts (from injection pumps to crankshafts) NONE of them have ever made any parts for a 6.2/6.5 diesel.

If anyone honestly believes the truck in question is making 1,000 foot pounds with the information given, I have a bridge for sale and a tunnel half price with the purchase of the bridge.

Do I believe it has twin turbos? Yes. Do I believe it was all rebuilt? Yes. Do I believe it is a nice looking truck? Yes. Do I believe it sounded good? Yes. Do I believe it's making 1,000 foot pounds? No. Especially not with the information provided in this thread and elsewhere.

these blocks can hardly hold together in stock form, even having a 599 block i still don't see it holding together if he even could make that kind of torque

Well you see what we don't know is that is actually a Cummins that is disguised to look like a 6.5.

LOL, thats what I asked my dad. He assured me it was the same motor as mine just with a 2nd turbo squeezed in front of the original location for the first turbo. I am just awaiting an email from this guy. Might never happen.

He said he hasn't turned up the pump any

One of these things just doesn't belong...

It will be interesting to see what it is he has done though. With more fuel maybe 1000ft lbs is possible for brief stints before it blows itself to pieces or maybe with a military block and forged crank. How much power was that little tractor with two IPs making that someone posts up here every few months?

Right, sounds like a ricer. "Dude, 15 Hp from the exhaust, 10 from the intake, 40 from the headers, and a 100hp tune."

Don't forget the clear taillights!

And the "Type R" emblem. That alone is a well known secret to add 30 HP :)
