Hey all! I just started looking into aftermarket turbos so, I am wondering what would be a safe boost level for a LB7 without head studs. Also, I am on a budget, but what turbos do you guys think would work well with my combo? Oh, and I like whistle so the louder the better! Thanks guys!

Borg Warner turbos are good for those on a budget...still a journal bearing turbo and you can get any range of sizes and housings. I would say S300 unless you're planning to do some serious engine building in the future...then an S400 would suit you. The specifics require more details on what you intend to do with the truck.

Plan on spending at least $2000 if you can find a used kit and buy your own turbo unless you are good at fabricating...

PS: Compounds are always an option...and they sound fantastic.

I wish I could do the twins, but that isn't going to be an option anytime soon. I am just looking for a good upgrade for street and maybe some strip action. Mainly, I want to get my EGT's down a bit. Doesn't take long to get into the 1600deg range if I get on it right now, and I'm only tuned to level 6.
