Can anyone tell me what might be leaking or causing this residue? There is actually a small pool of oil underneath where the residue is. Dealership says they looked at it and didn't see a leak but cleaned it up for me.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Keep an eye on it. If the oil returns then they get to fix the intake “air” leak. Ask them to do a smoke test to check for leaks. The oil is from the PCV system will oil the entire intake up. So any leaks do show up. Typically there is an oil leak at the turbo compressor mouthpiece from the PCV system.

WarWagon is right....... do the PVC reroute and you will not have this leak, check the collar that holds the mouthpiece to the turbo make sure it is tight...........

x3, also, check the level of the oil. Over a 5,000 mile interval I lost about 2 quarts of oil, no leaks other than residue around the areas mentioned above, boots, etc. Next oil check 2K miles later, lost a bit over 1 quart. Did the PCV reroute, not a drop lost since and that's been about 10K miles ago. The oil is being sucked out of the crankcase through the turbo and out the exhaust system, which is how it finds its way out onto the surfaces you show in the pic. Chris
