i bought a set of H2's last week and one of them has the clear coat peeling and i was wanting to paint them. would i be able to take them to a chrome shop to have the clear taken off and not ruin the wheel

If you're just wanting to paint, and willing to pay to just get them stripped, I'd recommend spending a few bucks more and just take them to a powdercoat shop. It'll last longer and look better than just painting them IMO
