My 01 has had new injectors at 33000--now it is gaining oil again at 37000. The fuel oil smell is back again from engine compartment. I took it back to dealer and they said the Tech II showed nothing wrong. Question---- can the Tech II tell if an injector is bad again? I asked about fuel return rates and they said that the Tech II told them all they needed to know. They sent me home with truck and told me to bring it back when oil level is really high on dip stick?
First time they installed new injectors with no hassel at all. Why now all the hassel with the same exact problems?

Looking at the balance rates is one way of diagnosing a bad injector, but thats not always the reason for fuel in the oil. You can have a problem with a feed line, return line or injection pump. If your oil level is increasing for no reason and is obvious, thats a pretty stupid thing to tell you to come back when its higher. Sounds like someone they dont want to work on it. They may have lost thier diesel tech and now you have other that dont want to do the work. I would try another dealer.
