Hi all,
I'm new to the forum. I became interested in diesel powered trucks because I went and looked at a dually that had a locked up 6.2 diesel engine. I started researching what it would take to repair or replace the engine and my interest has peaked since then.
Its funny that I have been around diesel powered vehicles for most of my life but didn't take any interest in them. I used to work on the oil rigs back in the early 80's. The drillers had diesel powered cars because they could get free fuel from the rigs. The oil rigs had big cat engines that powered the rig and I would have to service and troubleshoot them at times.
I spent a good many years in the Army and was around diesel engines too. The 2.5 ton, the half-ton blazer, the HUMVEE, the 5 ton...but I never really took an interest and wanted to have my own until I considered buying the dually. The dually is still there, still for sale and waiting for me to come get it and stick in this 6.2 that I have in my garage. I found this site while searching for info about 6.2 engines. I seen some pretty cool videos of 6.2 engines running on engine stands so that's my next goal, to see if this engine is any good.
