What are you going to support the extra feet of bed with? Planning to extend the frame rails?

Yep. Extend the rails, brake lines, drive shaft and wiring. Got a price on all that fab work including parts, not bad. Waiting to see what they can get me a bed, two more tires and a set of 20" rims for. If its in the budget, Im doing it.

I'll have to wait to winter though as I need my truck to pull the boat around.

These guys do bitchen fad work. Id feel very comfortable taking it to them.

Hey bow...

What's up with the bumper in the lights-1.jpg picture in your garage? It looks all swirley.

Your truck has a hydroformed frame and heat should not be used on it at all. But if you do make sure you let it cool naturally. The conversion seems easy in theory, me i would just get a dually that GM manufactured. You always run into many problems undertaking such a task, and i've learned whatever you think it will cost its usually double that.

there are no 20" dually wheels.

Really? I was told different.

Total seems pricey, too pricey. Now if I have to buy new tires, then there goes another 2300 bucks. I think Ill take the money and do something else. I would also not have my truck for 5 weeks. And Ive heard that before, 5 weeks turns into 8 weeks.

you would need all new offset dually rims and the front spacer, the ones you have on your truck now cant be used.

His rims could be used, it would just take a little more fab work on the axle. He would need a really big spacer, and an inside rim with an ever larger outward offset then a regular dually wheel.

sorry, but that is the craziest thing I have ever heard...... There is so much more to a dually besides dual rear wheels.
