: Best combo for QUIET power and performance?(w/speedo recal.)
jubetrane 09-18-2009, 04:56 AM I'm lifting my lmm next week (6" w/35x12.50)and was looking for some opinions on the best programmer/exhaust combo for decent power increase with a speedometer recalibration option. I guess I am just getting too old for the loud exhaust, but I would be able to handle a little more noise.;) Any help would be much appreciated. I just ran a Hypertech in my 03 and was happy with the bang for the buck, but I would like to hear some real world opinions on other options.
Tyler@MPF 09-18-2009, 08:34 AM I would go with a 4" exhaust, i prefer MBRP. But if you feel you need it quiter there are other options.
For the tuning, I would highly recomend a Edge CS/CTS Race. The Edge has proven to be the front runner for the DPF delete.
Let me know if you have any questions.

theunderlord 09-18-2009, 11:12 AM Throw in a re-gear too. 4.56's. You're not gonna dig 3.73's and those 35's. As for the exhaust, I have 4" no dpf/cat, and it's in no way loud...
AlligatorPerformance 09-18-2009, 11:18 AM All of the top brands in 4" are pretty quiet, MBRP and Silverline have been the top selling brands, with very few complaints about drone. Diamond Eye is also quiet, and they have an option for the Quiet Tone Front Pipe which does away with almost all the drone.
As for tuners, look into the Edge EVO or PPE Hot Race for good clean power. The EVO gets my vote for the added gauges and turbo brake in the tow level 2.
calabria69 09-18-2009, 12:34 PM you do not need to re-gear with 35's...thats ridiculous, if you do the rear you would have to do the front also.....i run 35's and its just fine...as for tuners i would go with evo, like chad said its a bonus to get guages with it....he can hook you up with what ever you need!!

NO WAY! :nutkick: who knew!?
You don't need to do anything. Merely suggesting it. With 3.73's and a 35" tall tire at 70 MPH you'll be doing 1,514 RPM, with 4.56's, at the same speed its 1,851.
It's on my to do list to gain some of that off the line giddyup back.
jubetrane 09-20-2009, 10:22 PM What level would be safe to run with the Edge or PPE, if I leave the exhaust and tranny stock?
AlligatorPerformance 09-20-2009, 11:27 PM I have a good friend that drives his 08 for work (around 200 miles a day), and he drives on lvl 3 daily, and tows in level 2 with his stock exhaust. Seems to be the most common levels to use for the 6 spd. trucks w/o destroying anything. He was very happy coming from a Hypertech'd 05 LLY, to the PPE in his 08.
jubetrane 09-20-2009, 11:50 PM Same applies to the Evo?
AlligatorPerformance 09-20-2009, 11:53 PM Same applies to the Evo?
Yes, same with the EVO as far as power levels go.
DSTRBD 09-21-2009, 10:54 AM MBRP is quiet enough for most people, but if you want it as quiet as possible, go with the Diamond Eye 4" kit with quiet tone front pipe. We have several customers running this system who are very happy with its performance and quiet sound. Pair that kit with an Edge Evolution Race, CS Race, or CTS Race and you have a killer package. Let me know if youd like some pricing.
