#1 efi live. if you are not comfortable writing your own tunes or purchasing a custom one for your truck go with a ppe hot +2 programmer

efi and ppe are the kings of tuning for the dmax. everyone is running a tuner these days. efi and ppe are for the big boys.

I went with PPE and haven't looked back. They are good tuners. I really like the ability to reset the Trans to quick learn. They also kill the codes for EGR plate and removing the CAT, so no CEL while running the tuner. That was a great selling point for me, because I didn't want to have to cut wires to put the finger stick in.

Forgot, you can also just by the PPE standard, then if you upgrade your trans at a later time you can upgrade your PPE for like 200 or so and get the Hot 2+.

DON'T buy the Edge Juice w/ Attitude unless you really just want to waste a bunch of money and not be happy with it. I'll soon be getting rid of mine (installed by previous owner) and getting most likely a PPE.

I just installed the Edge Evolution. Easy to install and it was reasonably priced.
I like being able to view as many as 4 different readings while driving along. It would cost a foutune to put all individual guages in along with a different programmer. Thats just my $.02

Like others say, EFI if you want to tweak yourself, PPE if you want ease of use. Also go with the turbo back exhaust and do a transjo jr. kit (assuming LBZ with 6 speed). Those three and your truck will be BAS ASSS!!!

I went with the Edge Evolution Race! PPE is really a great tune just with the built in gauges on the Edge I could'nt go wrong. EFI in my mind is the best overall but unless you dont have a clue what you want to do. stay with a box tuner with all programs built in.
