Check the sway bar links, steiner...those are known for breakage..

My story:
I had a similar noise, and thought the shocks were worn (125,000 on the originals, go figure). SO new set of shocks went on. Noise stayed, but slightly different. Checked it out and found the new shock wasn't tight enough in the upper mount, and was slamming against the bolt on each cycle. Check out the shocks (I jacked up the frame on that side, secured with a jackstand, and lifted the tire to simulate suspension movement- you can only move it a little by hand, those pesky torsion bars offer some resisitance). Good luck with yours, and let us know.

Put a jack under the lowest part of the lower A arm and do the rock test. 9-3 O'clock slack means the tie rods. 6-12 O'clock slack is ball joints. Look at the upper control arm bushings as you do it.
