How do you adjust it on a 03 hd?Goes all the way to the floor.

HBruns 05-20-2005, 09:16 PM The parking brake is cable actuated. The cable pulls a lever on the back plate. So long as the lever is fully extended by the cable, adjusting the cable will not help. The lever actuates a cam which spreads the parking brake shoes. There is a star adjuster between the shoes, and this may give you enough adjustment to make the brake work. If not it's time to replace the shoes, and this is not a trivial thing to do! Oh.... the star adjuster is manually adjusted only.
