have you already ordered one? I you haven't i think i have an extra one i can mail you. All you do is loosen two bolts holding the pipes together, slide it in, and tighten the bolts back up.

No one is just much easyer to put in you dont have to struggle pushing the pipe out of the way the other one you just loosen and it slides right in use a universal socket to break it its a 13 mm not in the back if you ise a 3/8 drive swivel socket you can break it really easy compared to using an extension. You can do it your self ts really easy if you have any questions feel free to ask

whats the bennifit from this?

Blocks used exhaust gases from being mixed with fresh air, which prevents black soot from building up inside the engine. Also lowers EGTs.

If the blocker plate I got didn't come with a new gasket is it ok to reuse the factory egr gasket?

MarcsLBZ

you can go buy gasket paper at an automotive store for like $2 it takes like about five minutes to install if you have a swivel socket its really simple have any questions feel free to ask its a 13 mm swivel with a 3/8 wratchet and you should be good cause if you use a straite extension with a normal socket its a real pain in the a$$

So do I need to put a new gasket in when I put the blocker plate in or is it ok to reuse the factory gasket?

id be willing to bet as long as you dont damage the factory gasket you can reuse it... and i dont see a need for a 2nd one on the other side since you are only needing to really seal the exhaust side

i took the old one off and just put a new one it doesnt hurt it but theres no reason for you to have two gaskets on there

To avoid the engine light and code coming on, you will also have to fingerstick it or I believe that some tuners will do the same. I bought the blocker place and fingerstick from Kennedy (Diesel Place vendor) and it came without a gasket. I used the original gasket. The fingerstick was a little intimidating because you have to splice into wires incased in a whole bundle of wires. The instructions were very helpful and everything came out great.

It does prevent the soot from buidling up in the intake, but i believe that the EGT's increase not decrease, but i am no expert.

I got mine from Nick. You can just use the factory gasket, just make sure its on the exhaust side of the plate, and not the engine side.

I got mine from Nick.

You might want to elaborate. There is more than one Nick who also happens to be a supporting vendor out here...

I had a little trouble spreading the pipe apart to have enough room for the plate. With the gasket on exhaust side I also sprayed both sides of the plate W/ that copper gasket stuff and havent had any problems with leaks. :D

Most of the time you reuse the old gasket. Only reason too use a new one is if you tear it.

I used a air ratchet with a swivel socket and let some penetratng lube sit on there for a loooooongg time! What a pain in the butt to do! But man does it spool up fast! It lights and goes on the 300 tune! But now no smoke... It would black out a three lane highway on the 300 tune! Why is this I am wondering what it does do not have anymore smoke! I would rather have a clean burning, rippin d-max than good amounts of smoke. Also, I have noticed a slgith increase in EGT's... I am at 5,400 ft elevation so that might cause I dunno! But I love to lay into it now! Poor lil Allison haha:D

if someone were to purchase a truck with over 100,000 miles on it, would it still be benifficial to add a blocker plate, or would it be too late to help anything

Good question! I would like to know the samething. I bought mine a while back but haven't blocked it yet. I just turned 50,000.

Well, I for one think it's never too late to stop dumping soot and crap back into your intake. You might be well served to clean the intake... but I hear it's a bear to clean...

I picked up a new gasket today, never took the old one out so I didn't see how it is shapped on the I.D.
Is the hole a rectangle or circle ? The one they sold has a rect. shapped is that right :help:

Depending on who makes the gasket, I have seen it come with a round hole or a square hole, both work fine.

I guess It dont really matter with the blocker in any way !
