Did they change the way the memory seats work on the '05's? On my '02 Envoy and '04 1500, when you put the key in the switch, the seats go tho the setting. On my '05 3500, I have to push the button for the seat to adjust. Is this normal?

Yes, no longer is it an automatic feature with the key fob or putting the key in the ignition. Have to push the button now.

Any reason why they did that?

Probably a combination of people not realizing there are Driver 1/2 key fobs and replaced components that could not ever be duplicated and service people being to slow to pick up on the problem so they replace the part. I recall some idiots replacing radios for radio station presets not staying in this dealer, customer was unaware of using 2 different remotes could do this. Second might be wear and tear on components that change everytime someone uses the other key just to move the vehicle. If I had to guess at least.

One of the main reasons I wanted the SLT was just for these features. I nor the wife are very happy about this change.

Thanks,

You can mark me down as very disappointed about this as well. When you have it selected in the DIC, the seat will adjust to the user saved "easy exit" position. Now this is cool since I do not have nerf bars (yet). However it is very common to get in and start moving before you remember to push the memory 1 or 2 button. GM only allows it to work only while the vehicle is in Park. What a major PITA......
