That sure doesn't look normal...all the ones I pulled out of my truck were completely black, no rust

What kind of fuel are you using, and what cylinder was it ?

Maybe ATF ashes ?

is it running better with the new injectors?

Too much ATF in the diesel might be your poor running issue.

50/50 is way too much ATF. Truckers recommend a quart per tankful. I would personally recommend not using ATF, but instead something like a Stanadyne Performance Formula treatment.

i've ran it on 100% allready as an alturnitive fuel and ran fine.

the ashiing is what I was thinking it was, but was not sure.

yes the truck runs ahole lot better,no 40hp increase like they say ,but that not what I was looking for( same price ).

so this is not normal for 130,000 miles?

I am now filtering the atf before fueling with a 10 micron filter.

The IP is not designed to run on ATF. it was designed to run on Diesel Fuel. While you may not notice damage in all cases of running ATF, biodiesel or WVO, sometimes you have problems.

for what it's worth my blazer ran like a pile of crap and(to steal ace's saying) shook like a dog shitting tacks when the IP was damaged due to water contamination. It smoked like hell on top of it. After i swapped the IP, it ran perfect. still a little smokey due to old fuel mixed w/ fresh diesel 25%/75%(old heating oil/fresh diesel fuel)

No that's not normal for 130,000 miles. my pickup has almost 186,000 on it and runs perfect.

what I'm trying to find out is if the buildup is normal or excessive or is there no buildup ever is my ?

my source of atf is rock solid ,and I'm going to pull the eazy injectors every 5000 miles to check for build up.

the truck has 230,000 on it the injecters were rebuilt at 100,000 miles

there was no build up on any of my injectors i pulled from my 6.5(they had 160k+ on them). no buildup on my 6.2 injectors, and they sat for 10-11 years in the truck and the truck had ancient heating oil in it, and no building after i swapped them a 2nd time with ones from a friend.

the point is there should be no buildup. the 50/50 mix of diesel and ATF is your problem. That's way too much ATF in the diesel.

I would mix that ATF 1 to 3 or 4 with used engine oil filtered to a final 5 micron, before going 50/50 with diesel. might give less deposits, altough that little bit of carbon would'nt bother me if thats all there was after 130 k

Good to hear though that the OS dont seem to act up.As i am in the process of filtering used oil to burn in my diesels

I've only been burning atf for 10,000 miles ,just to let you know.

I just was not sure if there was a normal biuldup.

all 8 injecters had the cone on the end, and had to be drippen the fuel out

I am suspending my atf use

If you seen a spark plug that has been fouled by oil, that is what it look like.

Are you confusing automatic transmission fluid for waste vegetable oil or biodiesel? Where would you get that much auto trans fluid to be able to run 100% or even a 50/50 mix?

Blue Turbo

I work in a auto shop and we do trans flushing. I kept it in a special drum with a pump and filter

Thses trucks are not really set up for running ATF successfully, the power jokes and Cummins, with some custom tuning, are capable of running 100% ATF, but I don't think it has ever been done with a 6.5 or an IDI for that matter of fact.

Im not sure why you would ever want to run your truck on ATF of any kind to begin with...??
