No, no, no, and NO! LOL. I have already made a few calls to both ATI and Innovators West about fab'ing up a custom crank/dampner for the 8.1L. Once I get the TVS2300 on my truck, i am going to need the 8 rib setup to keep things from slipping. Anyway, I have gotten both Chris Rose at Innovators West and Ricky Hults at ATI committed to fab'ing me one up for right around $500, but they will need a stock 8.1L crank pulley in thier hands to make it work. I have an extra crank/dampner in the garage, i just have not gotten around to sending it in to one of them. They said it would take around 6 weeks or less from start to finish. The other pulleys from a standard LSX kit should work on the 8.1L.....I think :).....at least i think the water pump, alt, and PS pump pulleys are the same as the small blocks....I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. The 8.1L's crank snout is just a little larger in diameter and the A/C belt is spaced a little differently from the main drive belt on the pulley itself. If get a few minutes this week I will get a picture of them side by side.

....also, I think Raylar only makes pulley kits for marine applications......I could be wrong about that too though :)

Its not bad......takes a little getting used to but you shouldnt have to many problems. I will help you out if you need it.....with what I know anyway. Ray from Raylar sent me this about the Pulleys for the 8.1L...

Jimmie:

Their are no pulley systems available in the aftermarket polished or
billet or otherwise for an 8.1L in a truck. There is no need for a 8
rib system and your six rib system should be more than adequate. Look
to real benefit products for your 8.1L engine and stay away from many
of the unproductive products pitched and advetised in magazines, such
as cold air intakes, hand held programmers, bigger throttle bodies and
shorty headers that many of which are very expensive and absolutly do
not produce any measurable gain or real benefit for their purchasers.
Use your hard earnede money to make meaningful and verifyable
improvements to your 8.1l If we can help with any of our "real"
performance products and results, let us know. Increased midrange
torque and engine efficiencies are where real power and performance
come from.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

>...He doesnt know I have a blower on the truck or that I am planning on a rear drive Maggie soon......otherwise he would not have said I dont need an 8 rib :).
