I just bought new 285/75/16 Goodyear Wranglers and kept them on the stock rims of my 04' GMC 2500HD diesel. I just wasted $40 at the dealership to have the speedometer recalibrated. Service said that GM had no codes for these size tires. Any suggestions? What do y'all do? Blow off the calibration and know that you’re running about 5mph faster?

You have a few options here..You can

(A) keep it the way it is and keep in mind that you are going faster than what the speedo says

(B) Buy a handheld power tuner that will correct your speedometer for the size tires you have.

just do the speed limit and u have the over speed already in.

Actually it's 9% IIRC, 5 mph@55mph
6mph@65mph

I did a diameter calculation on my BFG ATs Vs stock littles and came up with a 7% correction factor. eg: 60mph = 64.2. I don't have a gps or programmer so I'm thinkin' I'm close enough with the 7% factor.

The dealer here had 31's but didn't have 285's...

I use the Edge for Speed and try y best to calculate mileage!!!
