Where is the best place to look? My truck gets 7.5 mpg pulling my rv. Also around 13.8 empty. No cells.

Pick a place...

EGR thats failled and stuck open
Boost tube coupling drivers side at the intercooler
exhaust coupling going to the turbo
pin hole in the intercooler

The only way to really check it is you'd have to probably have the dealer use the charge air kit on the truck to pressurize it and check it.

You could make a "tester" with a few pieces of PVC fittings (2 inch?), a gauge and a tire valve for about $12. Be sure you do not over pressurize the system- 35 lb max. :D

I saw several boost testers on eBay for $160 is anyone is interested! These are the official Kent More unit that is used by the dealers. :)

Well, if the truck runs fine other wise... & there are no CEL's or small boost leaks and the EGR is not stuck open....

***Verify this by looking at all your intercooler connections. Post turbo (by the wiring harness), Turbo CAC-Intercooler (Lower driverside, pull spash shield to inspect), Intercooler- Intake CAC (passenger side lower), & Intake CAC-Intake Crossover (under accordian tube). If you see oily black soot at ANY of the connections they are leaking (as your EGR is not blocked and PCV is not re-routed).

I would start by having my dealer reflash the truck with the latest and greatest LLY stock tune... I would then ensure my Fuel Filter & Air filter are up to snuff... Failing that, I would point my finger at 100 000 miles of EGR and PCV related soot buildup in your intake tract.

A load that heavy will result in appx 7-8MPG. Empty you should be getting a bit better milage (unless you live at very high altitude). The cost to pull your intake compontent's and have them sonic bathed would not be cheap (unless your a do-it-yourself guy). Weigh the cost of cleaning the intact tract vs. the cost benifit mileage gain you will recieve from actually cleaning them.

My LLY gets appx 19.5mpg (Highway Empty) & 12-13mpg (Loaded gvwr appx 18000 -low profile) @appx 3900ft

What's the build date of the latest tune for my truck? Also if I'm considering a tuner would this still be necessary(only reason for tuner is mpg, power is good). Also Diablosport U7185 Predator has been recommended for this????Good or not.
