I replaced the switch on pickup but noe the gear selector will not go into drive in the usual shifter position. The gear display will also not go to 1st. How do I adjust the switch to make it read correct on the display?
I changed the switch because the gear display was flashing off and on and the door locks were not working. I am still having problems off and on with the door locks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you read thru http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9267 first and follow the instructions about the metal piece on the NSBU switch itself? That metal piece is for allignment so everything should be in the correct place. If you didn't follow the instructions, then it's trial and error moving the placement of the switch on the trans housing.

Yes, I did read that thread and followed the instructions. Somehow I got it out of alignment. I haven't crawled under the truck to look at it yet but I thought that I would get some tips for adjusting before I do. It was an easy install, I just goofed somewhere. I will probably look at it today if I get time.

If you can't physically get the shifter in 1st you have the lever on the trans flipped around. the cable should snap in from the trans side.
