Anyone got any ideas on how to remove the oil pressure sending unit by yourself?

unscrew it....

hold the brass fitting underneath with a wrench and it should just unscrew, theres a square fitting on the bottom to use a wrench on

Oh the brass fitting can turn while I am unscrewing the unit? I can see it and unscrew it but not both at the same time.

yes, at the same time, the sender will hit the block/intake, thats why the brass fitting is angled. they come off one at a time

I wonder why they even bother putting a fitting on the top of the unit if you can't use it to remove the sending unit?

to change the angle so it points up around intake and clears the firewall

wow that was alot harder than my truck is. you just pull the vacuum pump off so you have room to move the wrench and unscrew it.

I won't have to worry about it anymore because I installed a 3" nipple and a "T" to feed a mechanical gauge and the newly installed turbo!!
